Garmin has released the fēnix 5 range, its latest multisport GPS watch to date. The fēnix 5 is available in 3 models: fēnix 5, fēnix 5S and fēnix 5X. This is to cater to all adventurers regardless of their wrist size.

The fēnix 5S is lighter, sleeker and smaller than previous models – perfect for small wrists without sacrificing multisport functionality. The fēnix 5X boasts preloaded wrist-based mapping; and the compact fēnix 5, like other fēnix watches, is feature-packed and ready to take on any adventure with an all-new industrial design.

All of the fēnix 5 models are 24/7 wearable with extended battery life, daily activity tracking, Garmin Elevate™ wrist heart rate technology, and a host of connected features. The new QuickFit™ bands lets you easily switch between leather and metal bands to silicone bands without the need for any tools.

With the latest series out,  the fēnix 5/5S/5X Plus range is the next generation of GPS multisport watches with built-in routable topographical maps, storage for music playlists, Garmin Pay™ contactless payment solution and wrist-based Pulse Oximeter 1 for altitude acclimation awareness. Like other fēnix watches, the fēnix 5 Plus, fēnix 5S Plus, and fēnix 5X Plus are built for athletes and adventures of all sizes.

Garmin Fenix and Garmin Edge interactions

By: on 15 December 2018
I use a Garmin Edge 520 whilst cycling (with a HR monitor, cadence and speed sensors) which uploads to Garmin connect and Strava on completion of my ride If I have a Garmin Fenix would I use it in addition to the Edge and if so how do the two interact or would j just use the Edge for cycling and the fenix for other activities Regards David

Hi David, The Fenix is a great model if you want one fro Running, Cycling swimming etc. You can connect the fenix to sync it's HR data to the cycling unit when on a ride. You can also use the Fenix for a bunch of other sports. So if you want something that can do everything the Fenix is the right model to go for!
